DENAPOX Z - two-component epoxideacrylate primer -

DENAPOX Z is a two-component, water based, anticorrosion primer specified for a coatings of metal segments and structures. The acrylate A component contains a special acylate dispersion, anticorrosive anorganic pigments, fine fillers, coalescents, biocidal, soaking, and dispergating agents, rheological modifiers, defoamer, and other admixtures suitably modifying the properties of the coating composition. The B component contains epoxy resin emulgation. It contains no aromatic thinners and varnish petrol and in comparison with traditional thinner based enamels it has minimum effects on both health and environment. Only water is used to clean the tools and the thinned enamel residues are degradable biologically.

Use: DENAPOX Z is used as anti-corrosion primer for steel segments and structures in the metal processing industry and in the building industry everywhere there, where chemical resistance, quick drying, tack-free coat and rapid growth in hardness are required.

This paint features very good chemical resistance, weather resistance, excellent adherence to the subgrade, quick drying and very good antirusting properties.

Surface preparation: The subgrade has to be clean, free of rust and mechanical and greasy impurities. Surface blasting is recommended as the best method of cleaning.

Mixing: Prior to application the both paint components, A:B, shall be mixed together in a ratio of 100:5 whereby the component B should be always added under steady stirring into the A component. The stirring is done by means of a suitable stirring device (i.e. drilling machine fitted with a propeller), manual stirring is not permitted. The workability of the mixture after mixed together is 12 hours as maximum.

Paint application: The paint is applied by brush, roll, or by spraying in one or more layers acc. to the requirements for the final properties of the coating. There should be a pause between the individual coatings of 4 hours as minimum. The temperature both of the air and subgrade must not drop below +10 °C. DENAPOX E or DENATOP two-component enamels are recommended as top finishing paints.

Theoretical spreading rate:Spreading rate of the paint is 5 - 7 m2 of 1 kg per one coating.

Tinge: The paint in the consistency as supplied is specified for direct use, it is not advisable to thin it prior to application. Only in exceptional cases it may be thinned by a small amount of water - 3 % maximum. The paint is supplied in shades acc. to colour samples of the manufacturer or in colour shades agreed upon with the manufacturer.

Packaging and storing: The product should be stored in its original packages at temperatures +5 °C to +25 °C at places protected against direct sun and sudden temperature fluctuations. Its shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Safety and hygiene: Both components of the DENAPOX Z paints are as supplied non-toxic and non-combustible. It does not require a hazard warning label in accordance with EC Directives. Prior to applying the coat it is recommended to treat the skin expected to come into contact with the paint by some skin protective cream. On work it is necessary to use protective aids and to observe the principles of personal hygiene, when working indoors the working place has to be ventilated. When larger areas of skin get stained they should be washed with soap and water, when eyes are affected they shall be washed out by a stream of clean water and in more serious cases a physician should be seen.
